A selection of client outcomes — what was paid on acquisition, how long the cask was held, and the gain realised on sale. Every result is specific to that cask, its timing and the market at the point of sale.
Real client results, shown with consent — initials are used to protect privacy. Past performance is not a guide to future results: capital is at risk and casks can fall as well as rise in value.
A considered method
A strategic approach to whisky cask ownership
We do not simply present individual casks on the strength of a familiar distillery name or a speculative growth percentage. Each opportunity is assessed on its own merits — and on how it fits the portfolio it is intended to join.
Before a cask is recommended, we consider the factors that genuinely influence its quality, its trade relevance and its potential to be sold later.
AcquisitionPurchase price, distillery and spirit quality, cask age
LiquidRemaining litres of alcohol, strength, expected bottle yield
MarketCurrent and potential trade demand, resale and bottling routes
FitPortfolio diversification and intended holding period
We take a considered view of acquisition, ownership, management and exit. That difference shows up in four ways.
01
Strategic acquisition
Casks are assessed according to price, age, liquid quality, bottle yield, trade relevance and potential exit routes — not brand recognition alone.
02
Portfolio construction
Recommendations consider your objectives, timescale, budget and existing holdings, rather than relying on a single distillery or cask type.
03
Transparent ownership
You receive clear documentation relating to your cask ownership, storage and warehouse arrangements, held independently of the brokerage.
04
Commercial exit planning
Potential resale routes are considered before an acquisition is recommended — private collectors, brokers, the wider trade and independent bottlers.
Investment opportunities
Some of the stock we may offer
Different clients need different casks. Availability changes continually and not every category suits every investor — current stock is shared on enquiry or through the secure opportunities listing.
Longer hold
New-fill & developing whisky
Freshly filled and young casks with a longer horizon. Suited to clients comfortable holding for maturity and seeking entry at earlier acquisition prices.
Trade-ready
Aged single malt casks
Casks with meaningful age already behind them. Suited to clients seeking greater immediate trade relevance and a potentially shorter timescale.
Selective
Rare & premium casks
Scarce distilleries and standout liquid. Selective, higher-value opportunities suited to experienced collectors and larger portfolios.

Knowledgeable and passionate, with respect
Jamie and the team are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about whisky investment. They answered every one of my questions and even posed some I hadn’t thought to ask. Everyone I’ve dealt with treats you as a person, not a number — you truly feel they honour the trust you place in them. Whether you’re new to whisky investment or looking for a different experience, I cannot recommend LAP highly enough.

Great experience all round
Liquid Asset Partners took over my portfolio from another company because I wasn’t 100% happy with the service, and the difference is night and day. Oliver kept me in the loop with everything, while being really personable and honest. One of the big things I wanted was to see an actual return and the end-to-end process — which Oliver facilitated, returning a 28% profit on my cask three years after buying. Couldn’t recommend LAP enough.

Next level service
I’ve worked with Jamie for over six years now, both buying and selling casks. Knowledgeable, passionate and top-quality service. Their style at LAP is like a family-run unit — I fully trust their advice and decisions. Best of all, we went to Scotland and physically touched my cask, then actually got to sample my own whisky. Can’t wait to buy my next cask.
