Our Investment Process

1. Consultation

Your journey with Liquid Asset Partners begins with a personal consultation with one of our cask trading experts. During this session, we’ll identify your investment goals and desired outcomes from a cask acquisition. Based on your objectives, budget, and timeline, we’ll assess how we can best support your needs, finding a cask that aligns with your investment vision.

2. Proposal

Following your consultation, your cask trading expert will present a tailored proposal and strategy aligned with your investment goals. This proposal includes in-depth insights into potential profit margins and exit strategies. We encourage you to ask any questions at this stage to ensure you have complete clarity on the investment.

3. Purchase

Once you’re ready to proceed, your cask trader will guide you through the acquisition process. Upon your approval, the cask will be reserved in your name, and an invoice and contract will be issued with a settlement period (typically 7 days) for your review. We accept various payment methods, including bank transfer, cheque, or through an FCA-authorised escrow service. After purchase, you’ll receive a receipt within 24 hours, along with a complimentary bottle of whisky and your certificate of ownership within 7-10 working days.

4. Account Management

As a client of Liquid Asset Partners, you’ll have a dedicated account manager who provides regular market updates, monitors price movements, and conducts annual portfolio valuations. You’ll also have opportunities to meet your manager, attend exclusive client events, and even visit your cask in Scotland. During your hold period, you can request samples, visit your cask, or receive video updates on our handling process.

5. Selling Your Cask

Six to twelve months before your hold period ends, your portfolio manager will reach out with a guide price for your cask. Upon your approval, we’ll initiate the marketing process, with exit strategies tailored to your specific cask. Options include:

  • Analysing the open market for optimal sale opportunities
  • Negotiating with independent bottlers
  • Taking the cask to auction (ideal for rare and aged casks)
  • Utilising our in-house buyback service
  • Bottling and labelling services if you wish to bottle your cask

We provide support throughout the resale process and guarantee our assistance at any point during your hold period, ensuring a smooth and profitable exit strategy.
